Wow, what a roller coaster!
The last week and a half have been chaotic! As many of you know, things haven't been the greatest. This blog is just to inform you all that I'm doing fine! I'm totally overwhelmed with work and school, to the point that I can't seem to think straight, but this weekend was great!
Friday I worked from home, which is always a pleasure - I'm free to write and get more done without the distractions of one office or another. After work, went home, relaxed and did some shoe shopping and then headed off for my weekly turn at the war-gaming table. Pulled off a narrow victory, the details of which I'll leave off (since few reading this actually play). Also, found a place liquidating its supply of war-gaming related stuff and picked up a few things at 50% off!
Saturday Katy and I had a date night! We dropped off Mia at 3pm and were on our way. We had a wonderful dinner at Longhorn and then decided to treat each other to some early Sweetest Day shopping (since next week we won't get a sitter, more than likely). She spoiled me rotten on war-game related stuffs at Blue Dragon. We ventured into Novi (my old home turf) and spent time at Twelve Oaks shopping! I hooked her up with Victoria Secret perfume goodness! And on the way out, we picked up our traditional fruit cooler (Watermelon/Strawberry, for those burning to know) and...
...then on over to the movies to see the Grudge 2... Holy hell was that a freakin' AWESOME movie... my eyes were bugged outta my head for 75% of the movie. It was better than the original and I'm thankful that there are still movies coming out that can actually scare me! The feeling after the movie was total vertigo. Let's just say that suspending disbelief too far is a baaaaaaad thing when it comes to this particular movie. *shudder*
After that, we tried to find somewhere to get drinks and socialize a little. After a few lackluster stops in Novi, we decided that Royal Oak was probably more our flavor and headed to Luna. The music was lousy (Alternative Night) but the people were HILARIOUS! Clapping and snapping your fingers while you dance - probably not a good idea. Hahah... Afterwards, we headed across the street to Coney and got a snack, laughed good-heartedly at the home-coming kids, and shuttered to think that Mia will be there sooner than later... scary!
Sunday was leisurely, though Mia was a pill that evening (that's putting it mildly. Girl's got moxy, I'll give her that!).
Counting my blessings? A bagillion!
Counting the lousy shit? Not worth the time!
All in all, I can say, it's really great to be home...
W00t!
Today's it back to work... and maybe an early escape to get more writing done! Hope everyone's weekend was a good as mine!
