Title: Date, Interrupted (Part I)
Fandom: Honeydew Syndrome
Characters/Pairing: Josh/Metis, Josh's sisters
Rating: PG
Genre: Humor
Author's Note: I orginally had Josh's sisters named Morgan and Michelle, but then I remembered his girlfriend from 2094893024 years ago was Michelle, so I changed it to Megan, which oddly seems to fit better. Oh well. XD This is also Part I. Part II will probably be posted later this week, once I get around to finishing it.
Summary: Josh's sisters find out about their brother's 'little secret'.
“Josh, are you gay?”
The sound of Josh suddenly choking on a spoonful of Coco Puffs was the initial answer to Morgan’s question, followed by an oddly pitched “What?!” from her older brother.
“Are you in love with Metis?” Megan chimed in, and Josh made weird gurgling noises in the back of his throat in response. “I think you like him.”
“D-Don’t you have a High School Musical marathon to watch or something?” he coughed, clearing his throat, face a bright red color.
“That’s a ‘yes’,” Morgan commented to her twin, the two blonde girls exchanging knowing looks. “No guy is that close to a regular friend.”
“What? Are you two experts or something?” Josh grumbled, beginning to wipe up the mess he made. Thankfully their parents were out of town and didn’t have to witness this conversation. “Maybe we just get along better than normal guys.”
“That’s because you’re dating,” Morgan chirped in a sing-song voice. “And besides,” she added when her brother opened his mouth to protest, “we saw you two kissing in the den the other day.”
“Are you guys spying on us?” he mumbled irritably, giving his sisters warning looks. They just grinned and he suddenly saw Charles in the form of two smirking thirteen-year-old girls.
“No, but you should know,” Megan replied, going back to nibbling on her toast, “your boyfriend moans really loud when you kiss him.”
Josh flushed darker all the way to the tips of his ears, putting his face in his hand.
“What do you two want?”
*-*-*
“Uh, Josh? You have your sisters in the car,” Metis informed him when he knocked on the door to pick him up for a date to the movies.
“I know.”
“Uh…okay,” he rose a confused brow, “Why?”
“They know.”
“Excuse me?”
“They know,” Josh repeated, giving Metis a meaningful look. The dark haired teen suddenly went pale and he punched his idiot jock of a boyfriend in the arm. “Ow! What was that for?!”
“You dumbass! You told them?!” he hissed angrily, hitting Josh again. “What the hell is wrong with you?!”
“Oh, you know, since we’re so close, while we were painting our nails I told them,” Josh bit back sarcastically, “I didn’t tell them! They found out!”
“Because you told them!”
“No, because you moan when we kiss!”
Metis’ mouth fell open and he turned ten different shades of red. “Why didn’t you tell me?!”
“You didn’t notice?!”
“No!”
While the two boys argued and panicked on the front porch, Megan rolled down the window and stuck her head out. “Josh! We’re going to be late to Enchanted!” she called out, causing the two to stop their hushed shouting match.
“…Enchanted?!” Metis squawked, giving Josh disbelieving look. “We’re seeing Enchanted?!”
“Look, it was that or Alvin and the Chipmunks,” Josh snapped, “Which would you prefer?”
“Alvin and the Chipmunks obviously!” the other boy cried, “At least then I’d keep some dignity!”
“How does your logic work?” Josh groaned, rubbing the bridge of his nose. “Come on, let’s go.”
“I’d rather not.”
Josh a look on his face that was mix between shock and a kicked puppy. “You can’t leave me alone with them and Disney.” The look of pure horror at the thought of being abandoned made Metis’ breath catch a bit and he finally sighed, lifting a hand to rub at his temple.
“You owe me. Big. So big I can’t even begin to describe how many years this will take for you to make up.”
Josh’s face lit up and he nodded reverently, about to lean over to kiss this wonderful, merciful god when the sound of his car’s horn blaring startled the two into turning to the street.
“Josh, if you and May don’t get in the car now I’m calling Mom and telling her about those pictures on your computer!” Morgan shouted from where she was leaning over the front seat, hand on the horn and face pulled into a devilish smirk.
Josh grumbled something under his breath and leaned over to give Metis a quick peck on the cheek, ignoring the indignant honk that Morgan gave in response. “Let’s go.”
They made their way to the curb, Josh walking around to the driver’s side while Metis opened the passenger side door just as Megan climbed over the seat, buckling herself in.
“Shotgun,” she grinned.
This was going to be…interesting.
