Ok team, as my friend Nayda so accurately asks, WHY IS IT 12 DEGREES IN OUR OFFICE WHEN THE REST OF THE SCHOOL IS WARM LIKE YOUR MOTHER'S WOMB???? Seriously, you can almost see your breath in here. All of our computers are functioning faster, its so cold [ <-- it's not so often i get to make a superconductor/ supercomputer reference, so you should see me snicker].

Its 10: 20 on a Monday. Monday is my work day and I have plenty of aforementioned work. I did about 15 pages of reading over the entire weekend, including a couple of pages of a trash novel.

was spent recording a track for < a href = " http://www.fawm.org/"> february album writing month (friday), drinking wine, attending a funtastic 20's theme party (without drinking! I rock), cleaning up after and playing with my kitten, watching Pirates of the Caribbean 2 and The Nameless with metasynthie, fighting with people, hugging with people, and yes, watching the superbowl. I got bad news in many forms, particularly the news that I did not qualify for a CUNY summer fellowship. I may still have a chance, though, which i found out today. so good news in some forms too!

But the fellowship thing is an interesting philosophical discussion. I have applied for several jobs and fellowships on the "Transwoman Public Defense Attorney" platform - and none of them have responded to that. Which confuses me - i feel as though my resume is very impressive, and my work history too, I have great references, and I have good grades. Also trial advocacy is (randomly?) my strong suit (there is a whole LJ entry waiting on that issue). Why didn't i get into the clinic? Why is it I haven't even gotten an interview with a defender organization?

My guess is simply defender culture. But who knows.

superconductor, trial advocacy, law school, the roaring 20's, defender
