Make me buy fabric!
FFC is having a pretty decent sale on shirting. As it seems I'm getting back into going to reenactments, I could use another lightweight dress. I have a very nice sheer, and I have a very dark one that's decent but I'm pretty tired of it. And the skirt is kind of short.
Shirting can be pretty nice stuff for a dress, as long as it's not an oxford weave (or has stretch). I figure I'll make the dress with a half-high lining even though it's not sheer, just for the coolness. I didn't want most of the plaids because they *look* like shirts to me. Stripes are easier. So here's what I'm thinking:
I'm leaning mostly toward either one of the green, because I love green and white and I don't have any in 1860s yet. (Although the first says ivory, and not white, and ivory makes me sad.) But I can be talked into another option. :)
I'll definitely do some self trim with the stripes on the bias.
