aww, this outfit is just so freakin' cute on you! I'm also very amused that the coral beads made an appearance with both this and the windowpane regency. ;)

I forgot how much I liked it until I looked out the pictures again. The longer/lower waist and the shorter skirt seems to correct my proportions. Now if I can only figure out how to finish it...

Well hey, it's natural! :p Seriously, it's one of the Best Gifts Ever. The coral looks spectacular with anything, and the blue ribbon is the perfect accent. Was coral used as much in the Regency, though? I know by the 1860s it had been only a children's thing, and I haven't noticed it in the fashion plates. (Not that I was necessarily looking, either.)

I'll try to find it for you when I get home, but there's this beautiful portrait c. about 1810--a woman in a white dress, blue striped sash, colored fichu, and bright red coral beads. It's gorgeous. And definitely coral. :D

Found it! The beads are darker than I remembered, but I think it might be my new monitor/computer, at least in part.

You are so right - I've even seen that one before. Maybe in the future I can find some striped silk like that and imitate the look in a less-luxurious style, just for a change.
