In case you (Ms. Judge) were wondering, the engineer and the mar are pointing out that in fact even in Ashkenazis, it's bittul (I hope -- engineer and mar, here's another opportunity to correct me!) since the middle consonant is a tet (or tes) not tav. (Mar -- it has a dagesh in it, right? Hence it's doubled?)
