C H A R A C T E R
☓ Name: Bridget
☓ Series: Guilty Gear
☓ Reference: Storyline videos: Part 1, part 2 and part 3.
☓ Canon point: Post Accent Core+, Good End
☓ Age: None specified in canon, believed to be anywhere from 12 to 14, but 14 for this app.

☓ Personality: Bridget is the son of wealthy parents and one half of a set of twins, and while he cares very much for his family, he doesn’t hesitate in leaving his home to try and prove himself. Despite being raised in a family with money, Bridget dislikes being seen as the typical sort of rich, spoiled brat. He’s a pretty sweet kid- well-meaning, polite, friendly and smart; however, he is also headstrong, temperamental, a fair bit naïve- almost to the point of gullibility, as when he’s given a false bounty list by I-no he believes her about it- and sometimes more than a bit clumsy to boot. He’s got a strong sense of right and wrong, and once he’s convinced that a person is wrong, it takes Hell and high water to get him to change his mind. Once he is proven to be mistaken, however, he immediately repents and does his best to remedy the situation, regardless of whether or not any remedying is actually required.

He’s the sort of very pretty boy who would much rather prefer some manlier descriptors than ‘cute’- because what he wants most in the world is to be able to stop living the lie he grew up in and be able to dress and act like the boy he is. Unfortunately, because of how long he’s had to pretend he’s a girl- before he left home, he’d spent most of his life dressed (and expected to behave) like a girl- it’s unconsciously engraved into his every action and mannerism, so despite his best efforts, he will probably always act at least a little effeminate. He often tries, however, to at least attempt to come off masculine- though more often than not he fails spectacularly.

He seems to possess a talent for being extremely self-reliant - after all, a proper man can't always rely on others, in his mind- as he did run away from home with nothing but his weapons and made his way through Europe, Zepp and to China on his own. He’s also prone to constantly wishing to prove his strength- it would seem to be to others, but it’s really to himself. Bridget treats nearly anything he can’t immediately overcome as a challenge of sorts, and he’s very persistent in reaching his goals- whatever they may be. He’s a little socially awkward, never having had the chance to make many friends other than his brother as a child, and sometimes doesn’t know how to deal with other people- though he is friendly and eager to please enough that it usually doesn’t matter. He also doesn’t like to let people think he’s a girl despite how he dresses, and will almost always correct people when they refer to him in the feminine- and usually quite vehemently.

Despite his rather girlish looks though, Bridget seems to draw girls without intending to, becoming fast friends with both Dizzy and May. He garners the favor of the rest of the Jellyfish pirates as well- to the point of being made an honorary member by Johnny. Granted, May’s method of welcoming Bridget to the crew involves an ‘initiation’ that’s actually a fight, and she seems to be a little jealous of the fact that Johnny hit on Bridget while he was under the impression the young Brit was a girl. Bridget is later recruited by Jam Kuradoberi with the intent of using his future good looks to draw more (female) customers to her restaurant (though ironically, in Jam’s version of this ending, it’s revealed that most of the customers Bridget draws are, in fact, male). She draws him in with the promise of a greater salary than he was ‘earning’ on Zepp doing demonstrations along with the opportunity to perform in her restaurant.

While he takes the job eagerly, he seems to be more focused on the ‘performing’ part of the job he was offered, and Jam has to remind him to actually do his job and not just spend all his time performing. He also has the unfortunate ability to compliment people- male and female alike- on both physical and personality traits he likes in them while remaining entirely oblivious as to how anything he says could be misconstrued-like in the case of Baiken (who he calls ‘manly and tough’) or the case of Ky Kiske, whose limbs he rather cheerfully compliments as ‘powerful but slender and graceful’. However, he also seems very much unaware of his own looks, as even when Jam refers to him as a ‘pretty boy’, he only manages a ‘huh?’ and wonders what she’s talking about. Still, even in such an odd situation- like in the situation with the Jellyfish Pirates- Bridget rolls with the punches (in some cases, literally) rather well and, given enough time, adapts well to whatever situation he manages to find himself in.

☓ Abilities: Canonically, Bridget uses a lot of magic for both his ‘performing’ and his bounty-hunting. His magic seems to vary from causing explosions to creating trap and homing seals and helping his robotic bear Roger to transform into a variety of weapon forms. He’s also a fairly decent fighter, fast if not very strong, and specializes in feints and traps, fighting at both close and long distances easily. Most of Bridget’s Special attacks are canonically based off of a simple trick: shoot the moon. However, this is typically referred to as ‘yo-yo extend’, because no matter what direction he throws it in- even straight up above his head- it will stay until it’s recalled. His Special Attacks and Overdrives can be seen here, and his Instant Kill can be seen here at approximately 4:35.

Special Attacks

⚙ Roger Hug- After throwing a yo-yo past his opponent, it transforms into a large, flat seal and attaches itself to whomever he’s fighting.

⚙ Rolling Transport- Used in tandem with Roger Hug- Bridget uses the seal created by his yo-yo as an anchor point and transports himself toward his opponent.

⚙ Roger Rush- After throwing a yo-yo past his opponent, it transforms into Roger, who punches and kicks at his opponent as he drifts his way back toward his master.

⚙ Jagged Roger- After throwing a yo-yo past his opponent, it transforms into Roger, who sprouts saw blades around his midsection and attacks his opponent. It can be stopped by hitting either the bear or Bridget himself, and has a very short duration.

⚙ Kickstart My Heart- Bridget uses his yo-yos like wheels, rolling toward his opponents at rather high speeds before crashing into them.

⚙ Kickstart My Heart Discharge- A feint utilizing Kickstart My Heart- Bridget performs the trick, but instead of hitting his opponents, he attacks them with a flurry of blows from his yo-yos.

⚙ Kickstart My Heart Stop- A feint utilizing Kickstart My Heart- Bridget performs the trick, but stops himself… by using his opponent as a stop.

⚙ Yo-Yo Fest- Bridget slides in close to his opponents and then attacks by spinning his yo-yos in a loop around himself.

Bridget’s Overdrive attacks are executed like traps, and usually require him to build up magic with his normal attacks, and can come from any direction at any time.

Overdrive Attacks

⚙ Tradegy During Maintenance- Moving close to his opponents, Bridget triggers an explosion, blasting himself back and away from his opponent while engulfing them in the blasts.

⚙ Loop the Loop- Using both his yo-yos, Bridget strikes his opponents with a series of quick blows, and then summons an enormous version of Roger, which crashes down on top of them.

⚙ Me and my Killing Machine- After throwing a yo-yo past his opponent, it transforms into a large, flaming mechanical circle, with Roger in the center propelling it forward and toward his opponent.

Bridget’s instant-kill is a very complicated move in that it’s difficult to catch someone in and has a limited range, but it’s an unusually powerful move for someone so young.

Instant Kill

⚙ Shoot the Moon- Bridget acts as if he’s performing a simple yo-yo extend, however instead of shooting into or past an opponent, the yo-yo string wraps around them and Bridget pulls and the person seems to simply disappear. What in fact happens is that the opponent is slammed into the moon with no small amount of force, burying them head-first into the moon’s surface.

☓ Weaknesses: He’s trusting and easy to take advantage of, and while he’s very strong (especially for his size) by most world’s standards, he’s fairly weak compared to most people from his world. He can be stubborn to the point of being irrational, and charges into situations without thinking them through entirely and sometimes his temper gets the better of him when he doesn’t get his way or people don’t listen to him.

☓ Strengths: He’s very optimistic and confident in his abilities and talents and doesn’t give up easily. He’s personable and kind, and makes friends/allies fairly easily. He’s also a fairly decent liar/actor when he wants to be, because of how he had to grow up, and he’s a great fighter from having to do all that bounty-hunting.

☓ Intranet post sample: -orking now, right?

[A slightly soaked blond is peering at the console from a cocoon made of blankets, curious eyes alighting on the screen and peering far too closely at it before withdrawing. The keyboard catches his attention then, and he lifts a hand from the cocoon to run fingers over the keys with a light clatter.]

[He blinks, surprised, as the letters and symbols flash onto the screen and cocks his head a bit, blinking curiously.]

Oh! It’s like a typewriter then, is it? How unusual..!

[He blinks again, expression simultaneously pleased and curious, and then leans forward over the keyboard, expression briefly switching into concentration as he pecks out something with the keys.]

Hello? |

[He sits back, looking pleased once more, and peers at the console with cheerful intensity as if awaiting the outcome.]

☓ Log post sample: He couldn’t recall, honestly, just how he’d gotten near anywhere he would’ve had to wash ashore. Granted, the last day or three had been a bit of a blur- nothing but camping out, packing up and then running ‘cross the countryside making his way back to China after Miss Jam, but he’d have liked to think he’d have noticed if he’d walked into the ocean. Or, more rationally, gotten on a boat. Yet here he was, coughing up seawater and wondering how- with the combination of Roger, his knapsack, and the cuff around his waist- he hadn’t drowned outright, managing to somehow merely wash ashore in this strange place. He shrugged the knapsack off his shoulders, using it to prop himself into a seated position for a few moments as he caught his breath, occasionally turning off to the side as he heaved- seawater twice more, and nothing but dry heaves once.

He was grateful, at least, that his stomach was too empty for him to lose his supper, but the emptiness made him realize that he was more than just a little hungry at the moment. Resolving himself, he pushed himself away from his belongings, readjusting the handcuff around his waist and noting that it seemed a little heavier than usual- fatigue from near-drowning, he figured. He’d lost a shoe to the waves, he noted as he stood, wobbling on shaky legs for a moment, and pursed his lips before deciding to remove the other. He frowned as he looked around, trying to see if he recognized anything at all from where he stood, bending to heft his knapsack back onto his shoulders with a soft grunt. He didn’t recognize anything, of course, but he did see the lights of buildings not far off- so maybe things weren’t quite as bad as they seemed..!

Bolstered by the possibility, he reached down for Roger, hefting the bear into his arms with another quiet grunt, and started off toward the light, mindful of where he put his feet so he wouldn’t have anything else to worry about on top of everything and wondering just how far off course this little mishap had set him. Miss Jam was going to be absolutely furious if he took too long getting to the restaurant.
