I've got a job interview in Baltimore, Maryland on Monday. It's with a company called Kaydon. They make industrial seals for aircraft and space shuttle doors. That'll be a hellish trip up and back there in a day, but they're paying for the gas so I'll bear it. It's a chance to listen to the nineteen new CDs I've bought in the past two weeks and haven't heard yet. Plus if there's one thing the Northern Panhandle is missing, it's that constant threat of gang violence (except East Wheeeling; they got that shit covered.)
I got my 1,000th kill in Team Fortress 2, which is both cool and a little sad (15 Gamerpoints vs. the realization that I need to get a life.)
My friend Stephanie asked me to go to a concert with her to go pick up guys. She always called me "Fancypants" but I never understood why (although I do own quite a few pairs of very fancy pants) until I was reminded that the first time I met her I told her I was gay. I don't actually remember the first time I met her, but I'll assume I was drunk and it was practical joke time. On the bright side, I guess I can order girly drinks around her and she won't laugh at me, and all I have to do is occasionally point to a random guy and say he has a nice butt.
I gots an album review!
38) Dropkick Murphys - "The Gang's All Here" (Hellcat, 1999)
Sing-along punk from Beantown that provides ample opportunity to mix it up in the pit, "Gang's" takes the raw rock of Stiff Little Fingers and spices it up with a healthy dose of Lucky Charms and Guinness. This is the perfect ode to the three B's: Boston, Blue collars, and Beer. A warning: try not to listen to their version of "Amazing Grace." If your luck runs anything like mine, you'll end up getting punched in the face by random strangers every time you do.
