Dear fellow JB devotees, I'd like your advice, pleeeaaase!
I am contemplating on the right song for my birthday tribute. Originally I had wanted to rewrite the text of "Wind beneath my wings" and record it myself, but due to recent developments I could not do it in time (will do that later, anyway). And dissapointingly my other plans for the "youtube All Stars" singing had not work out due to lack of participation.
So, I am to do something else, and I want it to be uplifting.
There is a special song by Midge Ure, named "I see hope in the morning light". I like the song very much, hope being one of my pet issues, as the youtubers among you might have noticed... :-)
Now, I had taken a look at the text of the song and would very much like to ask you for your opinion.
It seems a little sad at the beginning, but it is about hope and future, and about overcoming the odds of "darkness", is it not?
Would you think it's appropriate for a JB tribute????
(Other opportunities would be "Coming out of the dark" by Gloria Estefan or maybe "Fly on the wings of love" by the Olsen Brothers...)
I see hope in the morning light
Another long night, caresses round me
Shows no pity knows no shame
To share it's lifetime of endless moments
Till I can touch the light again
Everything changes, everything round us
Everything matters after all
Let something move me and I will follow
Not walking blind but walking tall
Where does it say that we must hide
Inside this cold divide where nothing good can grow
When has a life been black and white
Where it's only wrong or right, I never felt so low
Deliver me from my sad story
I see hope in the morning light
Come to me in love and glory
I see hope in the morning light
Bringing peace and understanding
I see hope in the morning light
Emotional and undemanding
I see hope in the morning light
This heat that's growing from deep inside me
Lighted by your burning flame
But through the darkness when sleep surrounds me
I'll wake up crying out your name
There are no reasons, no lame excuses
To lock up freedom and desire
With love the power you came right through me
And turned this ember to a fire
