At my workplace
Two things happened this week that are bloggable.
First up was a colleague's birthday on Monday. SirD celebrated his 45th birthday. We tried to make it a surprise but he had told his wife that he was sure that the ladies in the staffroom would remember.
I managed to make a tuna and bean salad with fresh celery and bean spouts, sprinkled with lime juice. Mrs R brought her homemade chocolate banana cake (YUM!) and the others brought some bickies.
Hazel got her hubby to draw a picture of the birthday boy with his green basket. We usually give wacky gifts to one another and he received a medicine bag cos he had been sick (really bad) throughout the year.
The other event was the Dikir event on Wednesday. The English dept were relegated to the canteen to look after the students as a day leave for the students was not approved.
We took the opportunity to staple our papers there cos it would have been a waste of time to sit there and do nothing. At the end of it, we felt a bit left out of the celebrations as we had specially made bajus for the event.
