Matt's temper is calmed easily (in comparison) the time Mello returns from his fuck date with Light (if you want to call it that, as Mello would hardly call it a 'date' - it was just a fuck, just a fuckity fuck). He needs little reassurance this time. There's nothing there, it was only a solicitation, and Light was the one who asked.
Matt still grows green, but he takes it out on unsuspecting databases whose cracking warrants no merit. They're there for the taking; why the hell not?
It's the times Mello returns from Atobe's party, then Soul Society, that Matt cannot contain himself. There's more to it than just a fuck, Matt knows. There's a certain bounce to Mello's step when he walks in, and a "Shiro-chan" under his breath that Matt only hopes is his imagination. Matt doesn't have to ask this time.
