[adult swim] has these things called "bumps," which are pages of text/pictures, sort of like a PowerPoint presentation, before and after commercial breaks. They sometimes put up viewer mail. One they have been using recently says, "why isn't there anything interesting to say?"
Their response: "Because everything has been said. Enjoy the music." And they play about 10-15 seconds of music with no text on the screen.
"Enjoy the music." Is that what life's about?
[Leslie Murchie] (12:49:21 AM): you know what i was thinking the other day
[Leslie Murchie] (12:49:30 AM): i mean, of course this all depends on who's willing to hire me when i graduate
[Leslie Murchie] (12:50:13 AM): but i kinda figured that if i go to chicago when i graduate id be with kids from mich, but if i went to new york id be with kids from the port
It's an interesting conundrum for us Eastern Coast expatriates in the midwest. I personally based my post-graduation plans simply on where I could get a job, not really who would be there with me. However, having a social foundation would be a good way to spark my social life outside of work. Hopefully Chicago is a tight enough city that I wouldn't mind living there next year, pending I get a full-time offer. I suppose I should consider myself lucky that I would be able to know people in two big cities (NY and Chi). I'll let fate decide where I end up at.
