Oooh, adding this to my memories!

Have you read the Queen of Gondal stories by AJHall? (Whom I heartily recommend in a broad sense too, for every story ever written. Brilliant casefics!) Anyway, the Queen of Gondal is a crossover to some stories the Brontes wrote when they were young, with John as a physician who gets tasked to take a princess to the next country over to try to fend off a war. She's going to get married, to Sherlock, who is the Crown Prince (Mycroft is the King!) But there are some complications. Not the least of which that once very long ago, John and Sherlock knew each other very well indeed. Brilliant storywriting, many of the characters are drawn from yet other crossovers, and yet all of the OCs are wonderfully real.

BRONTE crossover!? And the plot sounds fascinating too! Though frankly, any story in which Mycroft is king just makes me XD.
Sounds amazing--I can't wait to read it. Thanks so much for the rec!

I have to say that you have taken my "two more days of vacation, I will get Things Done!" and turned into "two more days of vacation, I will Read Fanfic!"

Excellent...

Ahaha, it's all part of my evil plan to take over the world, one Sherlock rec list at a time...

Yay, I see you like the Queen of Gondal series!

I don't see any mention of random_nexus's stories here (I shall have to check out your longer recpage), but if you've missed that author, and you can tolerate WIPS, try this one where Sherlock and John meet earlier in the timeline. And there's another one, with muppets...

Woo, more recs, you rock! I have read a number of random_nexus' stories (so prolific! And everything they write is amazing!) but they have all been WIPs...so I haven't added them to my longer rec list (which doesn't include WIPs at the moment). I have included a few WIPs here though, so I'll take a look at the one you suggest. I don't mind waiting for something good! ^_^

And yes, the Gondal series was unbelievable. Thank you so much for pointing it out!

I like everything AJHall has written about Sherlock, especially "Rigging Scews..." and her other casefics. If you haven't read The Affair of the Asphyxiated Acafan yet you have missed out greatly. One of the best versions of Sarah ever written, and a truly delicious mystery to boot.

Oh, and speaking of recs, have you read When the Bough Breaks yet? It definitely counts as a crossover...

And had to come back and add The Deepest Secret Nobody Knows which may count as an AU, depending on how you read it.

*grin* Yes, I've been having fun!

Yes, I LOVE Rigging Screws. I'll have to check out The Affair of the Asphyxiated Acafan, (what on earth is an an acafan??). Sarah can always use more love in the fandom.

And more recs! Holy cow, I'm going to have to credit you somewhere in the post, your recs are AMAZING. Thank you so much!

An "acafan" is an "academic fan" -- the sort of person who has the most fun playing with the meta, I think.

And I tend to pass along the stories I love so much I've read them more than once. Or more than twice, even...

(And pssst, check out the Harry/Molly sequence by Mary Sutherland.)
