eh, i've gotten to the point where i can't handle "moral" people anymore. y'know, those who preach what to do; tell you not to smoke, not to have sex, not to take pleasure in any activity whatsoever. i've found that those who constantly talk about being "righteous" usually have secrets they dare not tell a soul. they set unreasonable standards for themselves, and once they break them, they hold it inside and go into a shame cycle. BE HONEST PEOPLE. everyone has problems, everyone's made bad calls, nobody's perfect. and instead of focusing on being "moral", try just being a good person.
pro-lifers, pro-choicers, homosexuals, bisexuals, heterosexuals, democrats, republicans, blacks, whites, jews, christians, atheists, those-who-do-not-agree-with-you; they're all people, and they're doing their best to be a good person. differences in opinion are to be expected, but we don't need to make it personal and disown those who don't see eye-to-eye with us. people are going to have sex before they're married, people are going to opt for abortions, people are going to drink in excessive amounts, people are going to lie. although i don't plan on doing any of the previously mentioned, i do understand that some of my friends will, and even i might. am i stupid for saying i might do something like that? no. i'm just honest enough to know that unexpected stuff happens, and if it does, so be it; just be enough of a friend to be there for people if it does. are we all entitled to our opinion? of course. are we entitled to pass judgment on those who don't have the same opinion? no way.
do i think binge drinking is wrong? yes. do i have friends that binge drink? yes. do i let them know where i stand on the issue? yes. do i tell them how to live their lives? no. will i assist them in their habit? no. will i be there if they want to talk about anything at all? of course.
tolerance... it's a funny thing, y'know. it's talked about so much, but really, what do we know about the word?
