Well here i am again in toronto.. since my last entry:

finished the essay, and i'm fairly pleased with how it turned out. i think it might be the best paper i've ever written, judging by the amount of time and money (microfilm/fiche printing is bloody expensive... 25c a page!) i spent on it.

Was in toronto last weekend..
Thursday: got into the city around 630.. relaxed at home w/ my dad until 9 or so, when amanda picked me up... i watched her eat mcdonalds, and then we spent a few hours over at her apartment watching tv and catching up on the week that went by.
Friday: was late for work by an hour and a half (and 8 minutes) which was ok b/c it wasn't a formal shift.. more along the lines of show-up-when-you-can, so they laughed it off. I was quite tired.. i had very little sleep the week i was essay-writing. So I told them it that my sleeping in was a result of academic overload. That seemed to be just fine. Friday night I hung out with dave.. we saw master and commander, and i did not enjoy it, and wouldn't recommend it. From the amount of previews that movie had, i expected it to be much better.. but it really wasn't good at all.. rather dull. Then we purchased some pineapple and a fruit smoothie from the 24/7 dominion, and took it back to my house.
Saturday: Went coat shopping with dave and my mom, with zero success. The three of us then met at an irish pub downtown with my 3 aunts and their friend the Irish Priest. He was quite funny.. Father Gregory. Told some funny stories about men 'boning' other men.. that fueled a bunch of laughter from our side, and even more so upon his confusion over our laughter. Turns out "boning" means "cornering" where he's from.. which is entirely different than the meaning we all took it for. Anyway, spent the rest of the night with dave.. which included a 3 hour nap. We were tired.
Sunday: went to see my grandma and great aunt.. my grandma doesn't remember me.. but she doesn't remember anyone, and it's old news anyway. So i wasn't offended in the least. Although i was told by my great aunt that i've been eating too much. Not all of us can lie in beds all day doing nothing and lose weight. Which is rather horrible to say, but i'm only joking (sorta). I'll let it slide this time, seeing as i can classify her as "old and confused" (but i still love her).
Was invited to dave's neighbour's house for dinner.. and as much as I would have enjoyed a nice greek meal, and the inevitable greek-italian verbal matches between the fathers... i was worried about driving back to london in the dark, so I had to decline. Turns out it's just as well I did, b/c dave woke up sunday morning w/ strep throat, so he went for dinner and then left immediately to go to bed.

The week up in london was alright.. spent most of it trying to do work.. catch up on all the readings i let go during essay season. Was fairly successful I suppose.. but there is still LOTS to read. Went for coffee w/ nicole and andrea on tuesday.. that was nice since I hadn't seen nicole in a while.. basically spent a couple hours bitching! wooO!!! Nicole is now engaged... so that's fun.. she told me in true nicole fashion that she expects me at the wedding, so that was exciting to hear!

Monday night my dad called to share some sad news... one of oldests friend's grandpa passed away on sunday from Lou Gehrig's Disease (or ALS). My friend's dad also coached my baseball team up until this past summer, so I decided that my classes held no flame to the importance of being there for Erin and Warren. I knew warren's dad as well, and he was a sweet man.. Always used to joke with me when I was younger So wednesday afternoon i came back to toronto.. the funeral was this morning, and it was sad. I saw erin's grandma.. i gave her a hug and told her i was so sorry, to which she replied adamantly: "i'm not. he's in a better place now, he didn't like suffering the way he was. I'm glad he doesn't have to live through it anymore." Such a strong woman.

Anyway.. dave isn't feeling very well still.. so now I'm on my way to amanda's catch up with her, tania and kriztle.. talked to tania today and apparently amanda has a good story for me.. heehehe i love stories.
