i love it when we don't have school.
Thursday-- I don't remember a lot of this night. hahaha. Like, i remember stuff that happened but it was such a long night that lots of it got lost. anyway so after school we hot boxed dylan's sauna. and by we, i mean me and like, 14 other people? so cramped. so cloudy. I don't really feel the need to write "WE SMOKED LOTS OF WEED" in like, every entry, but this was of note. After a while it was like, okay, time to step out, cause there is a lack of oxygen up in this bitch.
So after a while at Dylan's house we went to Danee's house. kick back, whatever, nothing of note happened. then a shitton of us went over to the theater to see the midnight showing of 300 on the imax!!!
as soon as that shit popped up it was like BOOM. screen is so big. we were all just like dammmmnn.
I kind of dozed off during 90% of the talkings parts, which was fine, because whenever the fighting parts popped up, homie started yelling SPARTANSSSSS and shit, and that woke me up and i'd watch the slo-mo fighting, the slo-mo stabbing, the slo-mo screaming, the slo-mo coins dropping. it was cheesy, but for what it was, it was bomb. Shit was beautiful though. And she stabbed that motherfucker! so tight.
The whole Persian thing was a little much though. Apparently Xerxes was a cannibal-esque 8 foot tall glam-rocker who wanted Leonidas to toss his salad. Who knew! Like, can you please try a littttllllee harder to not seem racist, even if you aren't. you know, just a little.
afterwards we went back to dylan's for a while. I got home at like 5-- drving on sunset really late/early in the morining is amazing. LA traffic is so ridiculous. It should not take me 30-45 minutes to drive 5 miles.
Saturday-- I had the advantage of seeing DO MAKE SAY THINK. oh my god, amazing. Parking around the troubadour is insanely ridiculous. we only saw the last two songs of the opening band, but whatev, cause Do Make Say Think was sooo good. The band exchanged instruments throughout the show, and everyone played like 5 different instruments. It was amazing-- all the instruments stood out. horns and trumpets and violins and shit. bitch was playing the harmonium! props for that shit.
Hopefully I will be seeing many more amazing bands (apart from coachella, which will be moreso amazing) this coming spring/summer.
