So glad to hear from you again #1son, we have all been thinking about you. Sympathy on the hurties, here's wishing you as speedy a recovery as possible.
Thanks JP. The recovery slow but sure. I manage to standup by myself, and even take a few hesitant steps. But it's a fight against four months of immobility and muscle loss. As I get better, I'll be online more often.
Enjoyed your last posting, by the way. Just didn't have the energy to respond.
Thanks for the Fells. If you'd care to send them, the address is myname, 8CL, Hopital Cantonal de Geneve. As Mrs number1son is also to be hospitalised soon, our femme de menage will empty our appartment mailbox twice a week, so you could also send them there.
Actually I'm in dire need of viewing material (DVDs) as I've exhausted my reserves. I know you devour major amounts of audio visual :-) so got any suggestions?
ah, cool, can i ever help you there :) I have loads of stuff. some out on loan at the moment, but i still have plenty. a mix of movies and tv series. i'm currently finishing off the final series of the west wing. and i have the series before. if you haven't watched that, it might be nice to watch the series selecting the 2 final candidates and then the series following the election campaign. but anyway, what might be best is if i gather up a bunch of things and bring them in for you. you can pick and choose anything you want and then when i get my other stuff back, i can collect what you've seen and bring some more. email me at bwigley at bluewin.ch and tell me exactly where you are and what the visiting times are. I can bring them in this week if you like.
I'm so relieved you're ok!chessiegirlNovember 18 2006, 15:30:28 UTC
Yay on the new lungs, #1, but so sorry you became so sick. We were all so worried about you and glad you're alright.
Anything you need us to do, #1, we're here for you. Lots of hugs, good wishes and prayers sent your way and I hope that each new day brings more improvement and less pain.

Thanks Chessie. Everyone's prayers seem to have had the desired effect! Although progress isn't spectacular, it's there. Much less pain recently, but still very weak.
A Joke to Cheer You UpchessiegirlNovember 23 2006, 06:45:28 UTC
Hi #1, hope you are doing better. Here is a joke to keep your spirits up.
One day while jogging, a middle-aged man noticed a tennis ball lying by the side of the walk. Being fairly new and in good condition, he picked the ball up, put it in his pocket and proceeded on his way.
Waiting at the cross street for the light to change, he noticed a beautiful blonde standing next to him smiling. "What do you have in your pocket?", she asked. "Tennis ball,” the man said smiling back.
"Wow," said the blonde looking upset. "That must hurt. I once had tennis elbow and the pain was unbearable!"
