it seems something has made me want to type

I never have been good at this thing, but I am feeling the urge.  I finally got around to applying to grad school and filling out the application for my degree, so unless I missed something huge in that whole process, I should be almost done!  Isn't it hilarious that I have gotten through seven full semesters of college without seeing an advisor?  Getting an appointment with an advisor at UB is tough stuff, so here's to hoping I have figured it all out correctly on my own.

I'm taking five classes this semester: LAI 350 - Intro to Education, CEP 400 - Educational Psych, PHI 337 - Social and Ethical Values in Medicine, AMS 278 - Queer Film, and LAI 490 - Seminar and Practice in Early Childhood Programs, which is basically a mini internship with a weekly seminar.  It should be worth way more than three credits, but whatever... I get to play with 15 2-5 year olds for four hours each week.  There is this really young kid named Sean that doesn't speak any English that just started a week and a half ago, but he is getting so much better already.  I hate to hear him cry and scream "Mamu" "Papu", so usually I try to play a game that makes him stomp his feet or be bounced around, cause he likes to do that for some reason.  I was so proud when his Dad came to pick up and he just smiled and started painting instead of running to the door like usual.

My LAI 350 class sucks though, it was supposed to be taught by one teacher, but apparently his wife decided to come along for the ride.  They take turns talking to us and leading the class, which is cool because they both have different experiences teaching (her: first through fifth grade and him: eighth through twelfth plus school counseling), but they call each other honey and dear all the time.  It's annoying.  Also, this week and for each class from now on, we have to go to the middle school that the Mrs teaches at instead of attending class on campus.  If it was Sweet Home school district right down the road I wouldn't have a problem with it, but it's at least a 10 minute drive each way, and they didn't ask us if it would be ok.  Whatever, at least I have a car and don't have issues getting there, besides the 4 pm traffic getting off of campus, on Millersport, and in Williamsville.

Still haven't gotten around to finishing all the stupid training and mini tests that I need to be trained to be a Shift Supervisor at CVS.  All it really means is a 75 cent raise, super special authorization scanning priveleges on my CVS card, and a set of keys, but that 75 cents will be freaking awesome.  I have to go through an entire 2" binder with my boss, and I'm not really looking forward to that so much.

I haven't done much of anything fun this semester yet, besides a Secretary Hoes and Corporate Joes party last weekend.  That was silly and quite a freshman year reunion.  My friends made me unbutton like 02398423 buttons on my shirt and wear a bright blue bra under a white button down, so of course I looked like a tramp, but so did they and therefore I did not feel whoreish.

OH!  Jo and I have a room in the city over Spring Break again :-)!  I think it's for Friday night, the night before St. Patrick's Day, just like last year, so this should be interesting, seeing as how I have a super id =-o.  I don't know what to do with Porkchop while we're gone, though... maybe one of my roommates will be around to feed him.  I don't know, I don't like to leave him alone, he gets crazy and knocks stuff over.  Especially if I'm only going to be in the city for two days, I don't want to be down on LI for the entire break.

Ok, I should go read for Philosophy and watch Kevin James make an ass of himself on CC :-)
