I find it funny that whenever I essay on Tomo, it's always about like--what she's doing atm in camp, what her various actions mean, why I did this and what in canon did I feel supported it?, etc. And when I essay on Chisame, it's always about my own OOC relationship with my own character. IT'S NOT ALL LIES JUST--PARTIAL LIES. OF OMISSION. THOSE AREN'T AS BAD AS REAL LIES *puts on a NIN album and cuts*

But seriously, awesome essay. T^Tb I loved Chisame before but her new canon turn is truly badass.

I think it's really admirable that you're not going the route of retconning everything. It's tough, when you go somewhere and then canon shows you that the way you thought things would be is wrong, but making those decisions and accepting them is a part of the character's development when you're going on so little. The decisions you made were plausible, and it makes sense to me to shove the character in a more canonical direction, but I think it's a good thing that you're doing that without compromising what you already have.

It's so interesting, because I know what happens to Omi in canon, and consciously took the route of not changing him-- or at least not changing him so radically (though of course the changes are different and under different circumstances). I really admire your choice to hold her to canon!Chisame, and to shove her in the direction you need to go. It's pretty awesome.
