Here's a public, "approved for all audiences" entry for y'all.

I haven't updated this thing in over a month because there hasn't been anything really worth updating about.

Being apathetic toward finding meaningful employment but not wanting to work one temp job after another, I decided to take the Civil Service Exam(s) up in Harrisburg. This was on Friday, July 13, and I received my results the middle of last week; I was pleased with the outcome, and now it is a matter of waiting to be contacted about one of the 5 jobs for which I tested.

I'll take anything--work is, after all, little more than a life-sustaining diversion that has little to do with survival.

From there, I will save up for my own place, invest in Final Draft, and devote my free time to typing up scripts. At the moment, I am writing my ideas longhand in notebooks and/or legal tablets.

It may sound strange, but I am really anticipating Rob Zombie's Halloween, even though my mentality is not one of "it's gonna kick ass" or "it's gonna suck." On the contrary, its built-in ticket sale (for me) is the presence of Malcolm McDowell as Dr. Sam Loomis (the role popularized by the late Donald Pleasence)--even in movies of lesser quality, McDowell is always interesting to watch. That, and I am not a big fan of John Carpenter's Halloween--even after seeing it on the big screen last year, I found it fairly dull and mechanical. In a way, Zombie's overzealous, overstylized directorial pattern may rectify the dullness that afflicted the 1978 original. If the trailer portends anything in its fast, brutal cuts, it is that the film will not be boring.

There's probably more to be said on a variety of topics, but I'm already bored with this.
