LF Charlie/Mom fic about her cancer
Sorry I don't really know how to make the subject line more descriptive for this one. I was wondering if there were any fics out there where Charlie's mom's illness was actually caused by something she was injected with. See it was this bizarre idea that maybe some organization had gotten a hold of her and threatened to kill her if Charlie didn't solve the P vs NP (like with Ethan and his kidnapped daughter). I don't know what real applications the problem could have (unlike with the problem Ethan was working on) but maybe it was worth it to someone to have it solved and they were willing to kill for it. This would be why Charlie spent all that time in the garage working on it. He wasn't trying to hide from his mother's sickness he was trying to save her.
Or she could have been involved in something like the Centre and when she left and refused to return with Charlie they caused her to be sick.
I can see him at his mom’s bedside toward the end falling apart because he just couldn’t solve it in time. “Mom, mommy I can’t solve it. I just can’t find the answer.” “Hush now baby boy. They didn’t mean for you to find the answer- this is my punishment not yours.”
Anything like that out there? If not anyone want to try and write it?
