Summary: It was a perfectly normal day at the University - then the unfortunate happened.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Amita Ramanujan shook her head once the rambunctious students had passed - she'd dodged out of their way, not spilling more than a few drops of her Starbucks chai latte and spilling none of the papers or pages she had been taking to her car, but hadn't dodged fast enough to keep from getting a mild head-slap from some kid screaming "I'm a tigger too! I'm a tigger too!"
Amita sighed. Charlie had just called a few minutes ago and asked her to bring some files over to the FBI building for him. So she was doing exactly that - and balancing a drink in her other hand, a pad of paper gripped between that upper arm and her torso..."and people like that don't make my job easy," she said under her breath. But it didn't feel like there was any damage done to her skull, so she went on her way.
Cold throbbing burst out suddenly against the backs of Amita's eyes similtaneous with flashes of barros and ghettos and poverty, similtaneous with her own voice in her head saying I want to be my best, and knowing what to do.
Across the lawn, Amita could see Victor and Sierra talking to Dominic and handlers about something. She wasn't sure how she knew the names, just that she did, just like she knew so much math.
And then Amita wasn't there.
Summary: Just when you think you've seen everything, there's a phone call that makes your boss pull a gun.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

"And then," Colby said as they recounted the humorous bits of their last case, "when he looked over the concrete dividers..."

Don chuckled. "Yeah. Yeah you can't get that sort of authenticity on those tv shows where actors play Feds," and stopped laughing when the phone rang. "This is Eppes," he said, answering it.

"Mr. Eppes," said the voice on the other end of the line, definately cultured, more than a little British, maybe English but he wasn't 100% on that.

"Yeah?"

"Did Mr. Watts provide you with any information once you made your arrest against him?"

"I'm sorry, what did you say your name was?" Don asked.

"I did not. But as you ask, I will say that the ninth seal is on the third tree."

Don hung up.

"Reporters already?" Colby asked, having only heard half the discussion.

Don didn't answer, just drew his sidearm and made sure there were bullets in the chamber.

Colby knew that look from his miltary days: that was the look of guys who were doing everything on autopilot.

And as Don walked down the length of the bullpen - heading for the elevators - with his gun drawn and ready to use, that same look on his face -

Colby shook his head and muttered, "And they said I was dangerous?" as he ran to tackle Don.
