I'm sure many people are in all the same communities, but I saw this post in
numb3rs_notice and thought it might spark discussion. I have never felt confident in my math abilities, but have always found some of the concepts in math interesting. I find the idea of actually using math to solve crime fascinating. I've already pre-ordered the book from Amazon. If other people read it, too, maybe we can talk about it.

Also, here is an article on genius, abnormality, and autism that seems to support some of the information in the blog entry on autism/asperger's that was mentioned in an earlier post. And here is a pdf article entitled "Popular Cultural Portrayals of Those Who Do Mathematics."

Finally, here's a video called The Wonder and Beauty of Teaching Physics. It's an MIT professor named Walter Lewin. One thing I like about Numb3rs is the excitement and sense of wonder that Larry brings to his work.
