Charlie leaned heavily on his walking cane, limping as the extremely young uniformed officer helped him to his seat. He made himself as comfortable as his aged bones would allow, and raising a hand pushed his white curls from his vision.
He was sad that neither Don or Robin were alive to see their son make this speech. He leant forward slightly to watch as his nephew stood and took his place behind the podium. Charlie hung on every word.
“I David Alan Eppes do solemnly swear that I will execute the office of president of the United States.....”
