Hi everyone. It's that time again!
The sign-up and other information are all behind the cut. We hope to see both old and new people here, so if you want to spread the word you're more than welcome to.
Rules:
Everyone who signs up fills out the sign-up sheet. Based on your requests, you will be matched with someone else, and they will write the requested fic for you. In turn, you are assigned with another person's request and you write a fic for them. Everybody wins. :)
The minimum length of the fic should be at least 500 words, so that everyone gets at least a ficlet. You wouldn't want a drabble when you have written a 5000-word fic, would you?
The challenge is slash/femmeslash. Threesomes and moresomes are allowed, including M/M/F and F/F/M pairings, so long as the slash/femmeslash relationship is the evident and predominant pairing.
Schedule:
Sign-ups start Saturday, October 15th and end Tueday, November 1st.
The assignments go out by Tuesday, November 15th.
The fics are due by Monday, January 9th.
If there are drop-outs, the missing fics will be assigned to willing writers. This period is also for possible extensions that we'll judge case by case.
The fics are posted by Monday January 23th. Earlier posting is possible if we get all the fics before this date.
The writers will be revealed on Wednesday, February 1st.
Signing up: Copy, paste, and fill out the below text box into your comment.
Name/LJ name: Email address: Requested pairing(s): Prompts (words, situations, genre, rating, etc.): Things you don't want to see in the fic (squicks, characters): Characters/pairings you would be willing to write: Things (situations, genres, ratings, kinks, characters) you definitely don't want to write: Are you willing to write another fic in case a writer drops out? If someone needs a beta reader, will you offer to beta? Any restrictions? You are free to list as many pairings as you want, because this will make matching you up easier. When giving prompts, think about the writer -- you don't want to give them too many details but not too few, either. A few general ideas should be enough.
Posting:
You will send the fics to numb3rs.newyear@gmail.com by January 10th, after which we will look for pinch-hitters. We will post the fics anonymously in this community as soon as all are received, but no later than January 24th. They will remain anonymous until February 1st. After the writers have been revealed, you can post the fics in any place you like (your LJ, other communities, ff.net and such).
If at all possible, please get someone else to look at your fic before you post it. If you can't find a willing beta, you can e-mail us at numb3rs.newyear@gmail.com and we'll see if one of those who have offered to act as betas fits your fic.
Important!
If at any point you know you won't be able to write the fic at all, email numb3rs.newyear@gmail.com as soon as possible. This way we can make sure that someone else can step in.
