A Sandhill Crane. How beautiful.
My favorite section, because it was so much easier to replicate the habitats was the North American boardwalk. They also have an amazing Manatee viewing area, which was just beautiful. The Black Bears were in a habitat with the Grey Fox. I spent a good amount of time looking for the dang fox and finally saw it when one of the bears made it wary enough to move. They just become invisable at will. The Bear was awesome, there were two. One just sat hoarding all the treats the zoo keepers left in the habitat. The other one scratched his back and went swimming. There was a Red Wolf in the Florida area, but they stayed out of sight except for one occastion when one did a quick circle around the enclosure.
There was an awesome Asian area. This was one of the cutest exhibits the Tapir mother and child. The baby was such a little one. He would walk at the bottom of the water while she swam around. He swam well too, but sometimes walking is fun too.
Lorikeet Landing had all these colorful Lorikeets flying around. I got to feed them nectar and they would land on me and squabble and sing.
