Well, I went and interviewed at Dick's Sporting Goods....
Basics:
Start at about $8 an hour apparently if my sales record checks out.
Major room for improvement pay wise.
The guy mentioned many, many times how impressed he was with my interviewing skills, since after all retail is selling yourself as much as it is the item. I would only work about 15 hours a week, but that's about a $100 paycheck at the end of the week, and that is not too shabby, after all.
I'm not too thrilled because the atmosphere is not one where I am truly comfortable, and the work crew I've seen is not one that I really relate to all that much...but it does have its possibilities.
I've been called back for a second interview with the Store Manager so that was a good ego boost.
Overall, he was very impressed, and was very happy to have someone actually "know how to take an interview and not look at the floor the entire time,".
So that made me feel good.
