It was a whirlwind weekend but not in the stressful way.

Got home Thursday. Visited my brother (mother, niece and other brother as consequence), he's doing well and is in good spirits. Dropped off some games and movies for him to pass the time. After the visit we saw "The Wild Things" Fringe play (VERY loud but very good as well). Saturday we headed to the lake. D did a monstrous amount of yard work and we played Scrabble with the neighbours. I'm slowly getting better at the game. Definitely not as good as D but decent. Hanging out with the neighbours was actually pretty great. Good company, good conversation no rush.

I packed speakers and DVDs but forgot the laptop at the house.
It was a face-palm moment but we were busy enough that it wasn't an issue.

Sunday I lounged (podcasts, PvZ, Osmos) while D finished the yard work.
Watched a few pod-casts and a few shows I had queued up.
Hit the lake after lunch (I totally scorched it) and it was COOOOOOLD.
Took me a while and many meters of inching to aclimate but I did, took the edge off the heat.

The cabin is very peaceful. The only thing I would like to change is the crushing heat which I think we can do over time but I definitely enjoy the disconnect and the slower pace. Just walking in to the cabin immediately saps all of your energy. So much so you can just walk in and fall asleep; a bittersweet feature.

This week is going to be bloody busy though for once it isn't a manufactured intensity.
