if you're gonna break a curse, you gotta do it with style.

yes i'm from new jersey, and yes i'm sure plenty of you don't care, but for those of you that do...

i got to hand it to you, red sox fans, you certainly earned itthis week, i went from actively disliking baseball to learning most of boston's starting line up.  this is what happens when you spend games two and three of the world series with two ( Read more... )

i'm crossing my fingers, but not holding my breath.

you know i'm a superstitious kind of gal, stace, and i just thought that it was funny that the first year i even try to pretend to be mildly interested in the world series (re: even pay attention to when baseball season is), the team that i have been geographical reared to support come hell or high water loses shame-faced and disgustingly in a curse-breaking streak by the red sox.

as a result, i am paranoid that my participation in the 2004 presidential election will seal W's victory.

(i would like to apologize, by the way, for all the horrible gramatical mistakes above. i am merely too tired to fix it.)

I'm picking up what you're putting down.... is NJ a predicted republican or democratic state?

NJ is a SCARY state. they've traditionally gone democratic, and so have been traditionally ignored in election season, but this year they're quietly leaning republican. a lot of people think it has to do with the Jim McGreevey nonsense.

i am very scared about this election.

I am also scared for this election. bigtime. i listen to NPR a lot these days, and they constantly have these pieces on how the new electronic ballot machines are easily tampered with, leave no paper record of votes, etc etc.

I am almost entirely convinced that we will not know who is president on the eve of November 2nd. I think it's going to be another long, drawn-out take it to the supreme court kind of thing.

And another thing, while I'm on my soapbox: Everyone keeps saying how no one is really that excited for Kerry, how really people just hate Bush and don't care who runs against him. God damnnit, *I'm* excited for Kerry. i'm a hell of a lot more excited for Kerry than i ever was for Gore...
