Good times, sick times

Well, life has been absolutely fantastic lately. I'll go over a few of the events.

I finally began my new job. It's always difficult to fit in at first, but things started to make sense and I'm feeling fairly comfortable. I've been able to use a few of my programming skills to save a lot of time and I may get the chance to work on some bigger and more visible programming projects in the future. So far it looks like they appreciate having me here.

Lela and I spend a ton of time together. I've never been in a relationship that felt as right as this one does. There have been a lot of girls that I would have considered "out of my league" (even though I don't think leagues are a very good way of categorizing people), but with Lela I felt certain that even though she is so incredible, we would get along really well and probably be very good for each other if we could just get to know each other. I was preparing to convince her, but I never needed to, which has helped assure me that I may have been right. :)

Christmas came and went. I have a lot of mixed feelings about Christmas. I love that people are generally a little more friendly. I hate that I can never pick out presents that I think people will like. The notable gift of the year was from Lela, who spent hours upon hours knitting a scarf for me! I told you she was amazing.

This weekend while I was at Lela's I got food poisoning. I threw up seven times between 1 a.m. and 7 a.m. and it was absolutely exhausting. I was sure that it was the burger I got from Wendy's, but when I told my bosses that I wasn't coming in on Monday, they told me that several other people in the office also got food poisoning. Apparently it was the burritos from 360° Burritos, who catered our lunch on Friday afternoon. Thanks to them, more than forty people in our office got sick over the weekend. I'm just glad it wasn't anything catching. I'd hate to share that sort of pain with Lela. Or anyone else, of course, but especially her.
