Home again, home again

Let me start off by saying that when it comes to my journal entries, no news is generally good news. The usual melodrama has calmed down a bit and I've managed to maintain a good deal of optimism. Allow me to share some recent events.

For those that haven't heard, I'm back in Antioch, living at home and working at my original Barnes and Noble, working full time.

Shortly before I left San Francisco-and due to the very fact that I was leaving-I started dating this great girl that I worked with all summer. Her name is Lela and she's amazing. We're both fairly shy, so we managed to keep the fact hidden that we were terribly interested in each other all summer long. It's very silly and it might've ended there if it hadn't been for an added effort by both of us, with some help from roommates. She's beautiful and intelligent and weird in all sorts of wonderful ways.

In other news, my car is finally running. I had bet a large sum of money in the idea that it was the starter that had gone bad and that I would be able to successfully replace it. I almost lost that bet, but then my Mom-on her birthday, no less-helped me correct the spot where I had misthreaded a bolt and then held the starter in place while I finally got it right. My car now starts beautifully and I'm going to start taking much better care of it than I have in the past. I went through a phase for a few days where I wanted to learn all about my car, so I read through a bit of my manual and bought a bunch of tools to help me do maintenance. I go through these phases too often to get really good at whatever has my interest at the moment, but maybe by the time I die I will have gotten decently good at a few of them.

Anyway, I'm off to church. If I get into a web programming kick any time soon (those come often enough) I'll write some programs to make it easier for me to update. It's all about ease of use, isn't it?
