Blood from a Kitty

Vet called.

Ultrasounds, aspirations, blood cultures...that poor cat has been poked and prodded so much over the past day. Poor girl.

BUT!

HER LIVER LOOKS OKAY! YAAAAAY!

She did have the coombs test come back positive, though, so it looks like the elevated biliruben and the isceteric stuff in her blood is a result of her own immune system overzealously attacking her own red blood cells. Yikes. But that can be treated with a shot of prednisone, and then they can treat the underlying infection (whatever that may be - virus? Bacteria? Pancreatitis?). So they're not seeing signs of liver failure or hepatic lipidosis or cancer.

This is the first good news we've had in a week. It's not great news - she's still sick, and it does complicate things a bit, but it at least rules out some scary stuff.
