wary and tired
For some reason, I couldn't figure out what day it was today.
Last night I didn't get much sleep due to a sick toddler.
I managed, eventually, to get junior to ingest some meds so that we could both get some rest.
Then I was waken up at 7am by a happy, healthy, 2 year old who didn't understand why I was groggy.
News item apeared: UPS tests hydraulic delivery truck.
That is, instead of a drive train, transmission, gears, etc, it has a couple pumps, some tubing, and a couple reservoirs.
For low speed stop-and-go traffic, it's better than the old method.
The speculation is about 60mpg due to increased efficiency.
I wouldn't try to get onto the freeway, though. :)
Xgf made the decision to acquire a used motorcycle asap.
We looked at one together.
It wasn't THAT old. Maybe ten years.
Spent most of its existance in a garage, apparently.
Less than 15k miles on it.
Rode it around the neighborhood.
Much better than the bikes we learned on at the course.
Handling, shifting, etc, were all smooth.
Didn't like cold starts, though.
The decision was made to purchase it, as I had no major objections.
The owner wanted a week to tune, change oil, wish it goodbye, etc.
We may be picking it up by riday.
I have my brother's wedding to go to next month.
It'll be wierd.
I suppose I should find a tie.
Trying to figure out if I can get to Airventure this year.
I've wanted to go for about 17 years now.
It's a five hour drive from here. $32 bucks to get in per day. $6 for parking, if you can get it.
Dunno if this year I'll make it.
