I don't like introductions

When you are moving to the US from another country there are many habits that you need to adopt in order to start feeling comfortable. Some of those are very annoying (e.g. feet and inches). Others you can handle. Some of those traditions you may find very useful. One of them is the practice to start a week on Sunday.

I was totally surprised when I realized that it actually makes perfect sense to me. I was quick to perceive that if a Sunday is the first day of the week then you have enough time to plan your time better. And according to this I am starting my storytelling about the past week starting from last Sunday.

Past Sunday was a nice day to spend outdoors and we even managed to do a part of out team project on streets of San Francisco.

Three of us were conducting a primary marketing research at a farmers' market near Civic Center. Our primary subject for the research - honey.

My teammates Yujia and Felipe were surveying customers and merchants.

And they were spoon-feeding them with honey.

Next day I did a selfie with my movember mustaches. Probably it was the one and the only experience in my life with growing mustaches for the entire month!

It was a Monday -- the day when we were supposed to receive grades for our brand book assignment on advertising class. We needed to collect 25 brands that each of us likes the most, and create a "brand book". We were allowed to do whatever we want: a physical book, collage, cork board, video, or something more crazy like a bunch of balloons or 25 different home-made cupcakes with a brand logo on top of each. I put a lot of efforts into my video, it's idea was inspired by the original music video of The Prodigy's "Smack my bitch up". Here you can take a look at this video. Feel free to leave you comments for it here.

More than a month ago I volunteered to help out by arranging a few photo shoots of LinkedIn profile pictures for fellow students from Hult. I announced these appointment-based photo shoots every Tuesday of November from 11am to 8pm. All appointment slots (around 80) were fully booked within less then 24 hours after the announcement. My calendar on Tuesday started to look like this.

Usually all people that come to have their pictures are very positive and friendly. That Tuesday I was given with a bottle of wine and a nice beard sticker for my laptop.

After I finished those photo shoots I went to see my friend at his place. His name is Felipe Fontoura, he lives in Berkeley. He met me on the BART station (Bay Area Rapid Transportation, it is interesting and I will tell you some other day about it) in his "Oakland style" gear. And I have really enjoyed the nice skateboard/bike ride at night in Berkeley afterwards.

Wednesday was the day of never ending team meetings. On this picture Sherif listens carefully to Hao's words.

On Thursday we had experienced our first Thanksgiving in our lives. About a dozen of friends with common efforts organized a dinner at our place. It was surprisingly hard to buy a not frozen turkey that day; so we even considered having a Thanksgiving crab while everyone else is having Thanksgiving Turkey.

But eventually we've found everything. We had lots of fun, a turkey and huge amounts of LEMONADE!

The last couple of days I mostly spent at home working on numerous projects and finally finishing wedding photo shoots, that I had in Russia before coming here.

Looks like I've just failed my objective to post only 10 pictures in every posting. In future publications I will do my best to stay within this limit. By the way I will probably have a few posts in the middle of the week just to show you the best pictures from the first couple of months after my coming here. It is very likely that I will publish here many pictures of Hult students. So if you are one of them it makes sense to visit my blog one more time on Thursday or Friday, perhaps you'll see yourself on a cover picture of my next LiveJournal posting.

Stay tuned!
