i can't believe i've been in New York for well over a week now. much has changed in my life. as i finally have a moment i lay on my loft with laptop in use. the feeling is surreal.
i passed through the toughest week of my life. no exaggerations. i made it only with the help of God. honestly no one could possibly have any idea of the physical and mental barriers i broke. for the first time i pushed my limits. i'm a stronger more confident person. for once i'm finally proud of myself.
i view the world in a different light. i've switched over from civilian life to military standards. i ultimately have the power to save lives and kill people. period. with that comes honor, courage, and commitment. i am a midshipman in the united states naval reserve.
as if nrotc orientation wasn't enough i had pre-season soccer too. and it turns out i will be playing on the WOMEN'S VARSITY TEAM! NCAA DIV 3. smaller campus so we're a high profile team. it was an amazing moment yesterday when i found out. i'll hopefully be on the RPI webpage soon so you can check out our stats. i absolutely love the squad too. there's 8 of us frosh 3 soph and a mix of juniors and seniors. i definitely will continue to develope my game. it's so nice to have soccer girls back to hang out with. i can tell that we're going to have a great time. it was a dry pre-season but that ended yesterday at 9. we do this thing called "pre-game" as a frosh all is new to me. it of course includes us getting together for a head start on the night ;) aw college life. we did that at jess's then headed over to another house for a soccer mixer held by some guys on the men's team. met some nice people and took a cab to a bar downtown. el dorado started slow but turned out stellar. (side note that afternoon the TKE (teek) frat made us lunch and met mr.ryan lacrosse man) ended up dancing and having guys offer me 151. i oblige. then meet baby blue eyes who just loved my shirt. numbers are given out. finally mr.ryan lacrosse man approaches me. we dance to dave, whisper, and eventually he wisked me away in a cab. so last night was spent at the TKE frat. air conditioning never felt so good.
hotness, trash, class...starts tomorrow. life is hauling by.
