...only because stories make it so much better.
So upon leaving work today, I hear this really loud rumbling noise coming from my tire. So I immediately pull off the road, thinking I have a flat. Tires look fine, wheels don't look crooked or anything. So I get in and head towards the dealer, thinking maybe a wheel is out of balance. I keep going and pull over again just because the noise is so damn loud. Again, checked the tire pressure, everything was fine. As I was walking around the car, however, this 1994 Corolla pulls up with a young guy and girl. She calls me over, and since I'm right off a busy street with lots of traffic (my office isn't in the most perfect of areas), I go over and see what they need. So I lean down and the girl starts giving me this sob story about how they don't have enough gas to get home and her credit card is maxed out. Meanwhile, I look over at the gauge cluster and say to the girl: "Yeah, you clearly have half a tank of gas, so it's not going to work". Anyway, back to the car. So I continue down the road (which turns into a 50 MPH zone) and the noise is just RIDICULOUS, thinking that I've got a bad wheel bearing or something. I pull over again and see this poking out of my tire:
Yeah, that's a QUARTER next to it! The damn thing was huge! Long story short, I got it patched, had a good story and a cool souvenir.
That's all.
