fasting day 1

I am doing a three day juice fast. This is the first fast that I have ever done. I have always been very intrigued by fasting and have long wanted to incorporate fasting into my lifestyle. I am starting with a small three day fast to gain confidence to do a more intense fast. There is a myriad of benefits that stem from fasting including, but not limited to: mental clarity, rid body of toxins, greater awareness to hunger and food consumption, and spiritual affects.
The last time I ate was dinner on Wednesday. I had a salad made of organic vegatables. This morning when I began my day with distilled water with organic lemon squeezed into it and a herbal tea. I took a long walk because walking in fresh air is beneficial to the fasting process. Around noon I had pomagranate juice diluted 2 parts water 1 part juice. I took a nap in the afternoon.
The afternoon was rough. I realized that I did not have all the ingredients I needed for the fast (additional juice and tea) so I had to run to the supermarket. The supermarket is not the place to be at the beginning of the first fast. By the evening I began to feel irratible and hungry. I drink oraganic orange juice diluted 2 parts water 1 part juice. I have had two more cups of different herbal teas.
This is a fascinating expierence. I feel as though I am becoming more intuned with my body and more aware of my bodys needs. I am looking forward to the completion of the fast and to reaping the benefits of fasting.
