Oh yeah. Time for another very long update from moi!

Well, since things have quieted down a bit, I'm taking some time to write a report on my life at the moment.  Yay XD

First off, Convention's season is more less over so I guess I should talk about the three Con I went to this summer.

Anime North was awesome, as always.  It was my first time going to the Moonlight ball but definitely not the last.  Most of Team JavX came and next year we'll all attend it instead of going to the dance.  From what I heard from those who went, it sucked ass and there was a lot of trouble from drunk and drugged kids, so we decided that we would hang out with the grown ups XD  Plus I thought it was really fun to learn all those dances even though I terribly sucked at them XD  That is without mentioning all the snacks and candies and gifts and all.

The Skit Contest went pretty well even though I was dead tired from finishing my fur coat at 3AM the night before.  I tried to sleep in the bus, but I guess I was too excited as usual.  I think we did great again and we looked absolutely amazing in our costume.  Especially Assendre in his PlayboyBunnie!Soi Fong XD  My Pimp!Urahara turned out better then I thought it would and it's now one of my favorite costume.  If only it wasn't SO hot to wear XD  We ended up winning Best Artisan, which booted us to Master level.  I can't believe we're already Masters.  It's amazing how fast we climbed up the ranks, but when I think about it, with all the talent the team has in each individual and in our teamwork, it's not too surprising.  But what I love most about us is that we still have the most fun working on our skits and performing it in front of the audience and hear them react and all more than actually winning.  Getting award is always nice, don't get me wrong, but there was time we didn't got anything and we still had fun being on stage and that's what is the most important in my eyes.

The Masquerade was something else though.  I know I've said this before, but it REALLY was the last time I was doing both the Skit Contest and the Masquerade.  I didn't see much of the Convention until Sunday, plus it's too much stress, especially when working with the MoonRoses.  I mean, I absolutely love the girls, to death, but I learned that I'm too used to work with TJ to be able to work with another team.  At least for now.  I think the way TJ is working is the way that is fitting me most.  We still were able to perform well and the crowd loved us ^_^  We got a Workmanship award for Painting on props, feather and fabrics, which made me very happy because it totally validated the work the girls did and most importantly, Lulu got validated for his awesome skills at props making.

Next after came Otakuthon.  This year was extremely laborious, surprisingly.  It was harder than the first year we did it.  I was again the Masquerade Director and this year, everything that could go wrong pretty much did.  The techs I had to work with were frustrating to death, and that has to change more than anything else.  That and the fact that I still have no powers on the board and am treated like panelist, more or less.  I mean, I always have to ask permission for pretty much everything while I don't really have time to wait on the day on the convention.  Anyway, I wrote a pretty thick report about it and this year things will change, I promised myself that.

A lot of positive things came out of OTK though.  I was able to get to know OAS (Ontario Anime Society) better, especially Mark, the present president.  He's a really cool guy and we had a lot of fun.  I also had more time to talk to Dawn and Maral and Trixie and I was really happy about it.  We didn't talk only about cosplay and masquerade and it give me a chance to know them better.

Finally came FanExpo.  It was really nice and working for another Convention than Otakuthon felt weird but good at the same time.  I learned a lot and I will definitely apply it to the next years.  I got to meet the big head of FanExpo, and when Dawn presented me to him, she said that I could be her successor one day.  I was really REALLY touched.  I mean, even if it never happens, that's quite an honor to be at least considered.  It really gave me the boost to continue being the Masquerade Director at Otakuthon.

Spending the weekend with Dawn and Erik was really nice and I got to hang out with the people I'm used to be see running around at Conventions *laughs*  I got to hang out with Gordon Rose and Paulie and all the people that judged me at one point.  I also got to judge for the first time, and although I was really nervous about it, I think it went pretty well.  Except for one bitchy girl who I should haven KNOWN she'd bitch about me (since we already didn't like each other a lot).  The thing that frustrated me the most was that she said that she knew I wouldn't award them a price, while in truth I was the one rooting for them during judging. *sighs*  Except for that one thing, my weekend was pretty perfect.  We even went to Hooters for dinner on Friday and it was pretty awesome.  Our waitress could speak French and she was into Anime, so it was pretty cool.  I also got a lot of compliments for my Katara cosplay, so it made me pretty happy ^_^

And now, I'm looking into going to Con*cept in Mtl.  I might even make a Star Wars costume *gasps*.  But most surprising is that my bf might come with me O_O  Yup, I might finally be able to pop his Convention Cherry XD

Well, I wanted to talk about work and my master, but I guess I'll write about it another time.  Gotta work in the house a bit XD
