Janora: Seriously,
http://damnyouautocorrect.com is my new favorite website. It is the goddamned story of my life. Last night I went to an amaze show (more about that in a sec) and I was texting Diana throughout because everything was reminding me of her and she was like, who are you with and I was like, a tin of plample. She responded with, oh sounds like fun. UGH, autocorrect is the bane of my existence sometimes and with the way my phone texts, I don't think I can turn it off. Then my intuitive swyping system will not work and I will have to type in stuff like normal people and on a touch screen, that is not so much fun at all. Anyway, visit that website but make sure you are not eating or drinking, I almost snorted dr pepper yesterday and I was ROFLMAO the other night when KT first linked me to it.
Last night was an amaze show. I had listened to Aural Vampire a few times when I was more into jrock (if there was j-disco, I'd be all up on it) but I didn't realize they were so synth poppy! That girl has the typical grating voice of a lot of japanese alternative vocalists but her costume was so cute and the dude was wearing this light-up mask that was the coolest shit ever. Instead of eyes he had laser beams!! We took a ton of photos and I took some video. I will try to get that up this weekend when I am bored at my mom's house but mostly I want to watch tv and read a few books I've been trying to read for months without the distraction of a constant internet connection.
Then a really terrible gothabilly band, dommin played, ugh. These guys were terrible. Bad hair, generic songs. The best part was a cover of cutting crew's just died in your arms tonight but even that couldn't redeem them because I knew like, 85% of the audience had no idea what the original song was like.
Yes, you heard that right. It was a giant crowd of twilighters all there to see the third band, Black Veil Brides. NGL, they were kind of beautiful but they looked like mimes. We called them Nick SixSixSix all night. J9 said they were a mixture of ICP and Motley Crue. I don't know much about ICP other than a mixed tape this dude sent Jasmine and I when we were young and innocent on aol chat but apparently they wear a lot of mime/KISS make-up. Whatever. We wiki'd these dudes after the show and apparently they are *post-screamo." Are you fucking kidding me? I like in a post-screamo world???? I can't even begin to name all the levels of wtf there but ok.
The Birthday Massacre was all right. The one dude I wanted to see covered his face with his hair the whole night so I couldn't see what he looked like. When Diana and I saw them 5 years ago, he was a baby with braces looking so adorbs so I wanted to see if he grew up cute. Couldn't tell, damnit!
Anyway, even though I was out late (and the band I came to see was over before 8 but I stayed anyway), I had a great time. Things like that become a family reunion and I saw a ton of people I haven't seen in forever!
Oh yeah!! Forgot to put this in my HP post yesterday but one of my co-workers, her sugar daddy owns one of Denver's two valet car companies (his brother owns the other!) and so she randomly gets tickets to a lot of whatever constitutes red carpet events in Denver. Anyway, since this weekend was basically harry potter weekend, he valeted at a few local charity events, including this one in Boulder in an old mansion that moved out their furniture and decorated the entire place hogwarts style. The best part is that the kids who played Draco, Luna and Neville were there! She didn't even know who they were so I had to google images of a ton of cast members to jog her memory. The only one she knew for sure was Draco, we had to extrapolate the others but still. OMG. Draco in Denver. And I didn't even know it. So jel!
