VENEZIO!
ciao tutto! well, yesterday i spent the most amazing day in venice. venice is a gorgeous town with NO cars. i am serious, there is not one car on the island. the streets are rather canals and gondalas are the main form of transportation. we stayed the two nights in this place called "camping fusina." it was HILARIOUS! we were literally in a trailor park! we had two rooms with just two beds in each. the bathrooms were a minute walk away and there was no toilet paper! it was very interesting to say the least. but, we were in venice, so none of us really cared. we walked about 4 miles in all yesterday...there was just so much to see! it was probably about 70 degrees out or so, and the sun was shining all morning. the whole day was surreal and indescribable. dan and i ate panini's in one of the main squares in venice...biggest mistake ever! we ended up paying 6.5 euro's (about $8) for a small sandwich! oh well, you live you learn. i took so many amazing pictures that i can't wait to show you all! oh, if any of you have seen "just married" i saw all the fun places where they filmed that! that was great fun...i got attacked by pidgeons in the same square where ashton kutcher did! good stuff. so, this morning we left venezio for firenze (florence). florence is AMAZING also. i just love all of italy in general. the people are so nice (despite what people may say). if you at least try to speak italian to them they will be nice back. in florence i met up with my brother's wonderful girlfriend, emily, who lives here. she showed us all around and took us to the best gellato (italian ice cream...AMAZING) and panini place around. we spent the whole day walking around the city and seeing so many beautiful things. i am falling in love with italy! someone please remind me of what i'm missing back home so i don't stay here forever! well, we are in florence for another 2 days and then we leave for rome. i'm so excited for that! tonight we are going out with emily again. we may go to a wine and cheese bar to do some wine tasting.
