why does life always try and bring you down
you study work practice for what
life will take you out
but we will still stand up and try
for some guy name pete's sake
most things here are a lie
but we will still stand up and fight

running not to get burned
keep working practicing studying
keep out of the line of fire
life will take the one's you love
placing them somewhere out of mind
all I want is for things to be right
