We've had quite the eventful past few weeks...
The move from West Palm Beach to Palm Bay is about 99% completed, with an exception of leaving some of the cleaning supplies behind which has really placed a damper on getting totally comfortable in the new home! We've been so, so busy not only with the move, but with some last minute training for the new clan of employees at Island Co. I believe they're all adapting really well, so I don't feel as guilty as I once did with only giving a month notice for our resignation. But family always comes first, money obviously last. Incidentally, Maria (Angelo's mom) seems to be responding well with the chemo, the only problem that still remains is by fault of the doctor. He's just one of those "on the go" kind of guys and can't seem to spare even a second to let us know what's going on. Yes, he's doing his job fine, but we still have our share of unanswered questions. It took us a month alone to find out what branch and stage of cancer she has, only recently identified as a type of non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma known as
lymphoblastic lymphoma - Stage 4. That's all I'm really going to say on that matter because once I start on something I feel strongly about it's really hard to get off that tangent. And I don't want this to turn into something heartrending. I just love her to pieces and I'm praying all goes well.
Despite the circumstances, this past weekend in general was one of the best I've had in such a long time. Angelo, my mother and I went to PugsGiving in Lakeland on Saturday... for those of you who do not know what PugsGiving is, it's a gathering of (200+) people and their pugs celebrating just that--a love of the breed! We took pictures of course, they can be viewed
here if you're interested. All in all, I'd say there were enough smiles and laughter to end a ten year war. I swear if only everyone could find such happiness we'd all be so much better off...
On Sunday night we celebrated Greg and Kathy's
Pre-Wedding extravaganza. The Hewitt's were married yesterday at 3pm and I honestly couldn't have given my blessings to any two people more deserving! Although... Sabrina and Misti, you girls are next in the wedding pool! Your men could only be so lucky!
This next week I may be on the hunt for a job, if anyone knows of anything available in the central Florida area please let me know. I managed the office at IslCo, so something along those lines would be preferred. Or maybe something accounting based. I'm open for slight change.
Time to get on the ball... hope everyone is doing well.
