Part I of III

Jun 22, 2005 22:30

At the risk of sounding like a broken record, I couldn't possibly be more contented with the way everything has turned out. We may work unreasonable hours throughout the day, our personal time may be somewhat limited, and hell, even our health is shot... but, you know you're blessed when throughout it all, those 24 hours a day are spent with that one person you couldn't imagine being without. Best of all, slowly but surely our vacation is in the works... Caribbean, Puerto Rico, Italy, they're all possibilities. It really doesn't even matter where we end up in the long run, I'm just so glad all the pieces have finally come together for us.

On another note, Father's Day turned out to be pretty copasetic. My mother, being female, generally gets all of the glory when it comes to being showered with gifts; I figured this year why not spice it up and throw some of the concentration my fathers way. He does deserve it after all. Granted we've had our share of family controversy in the past, I know he always means well--and you can't focus on negativity forever. We've really come so far with family ties, I just wish the same would go for the rest of the offspring... again, wishful thinking.

Thinking of family, I haven't spoken to my "other" other half in weeks... it's a little weird. I'll always remember that time in my life when getting through the day was a hassle of its own without the daily Jen-counsel. Nowadays things are just too hectic for the both of us. Angelo and I go into work at 9 in the morning, and there are nights we only just make it in time for a practical nights rest. And weekends... we pledge that time to a cute pile of laundry that builds so high (so fast) you'd think we were a family of four (and a half). Essentially I'm just leading to the lack of time we find for anything these days, but we're working on it. Little... by... little. :)

Oh, and before I forget. The boss is planning on throwing a little extra commission my way for picking up sales online. I figure I'll throw some MySpace usage in there, seeing as the repute of that place continues to grow by the day. Using my name as a "coupon code" on the company site will soon gain you a heaping 20% off the ever so ridiculously adorable bikinis we have to offer. (www.islandcompany.com, compliments of my favorite person ever). It's not in effect quite yet, but chalk that up to the already extensive list I'm determined to catch up on before the month is through. Our 2006 line is in production currently, I think a good 75% of the suits will have a good sales turnout... the remaining percentage I'm still a little hesitant on. We'll see what happens though. It's been a rough year, we're literally making deadlines with seconds to spare it seems.

Enough of work. It's late and we're beyond worn out. Angelo is working on some last minute proofs for (wait for this...) SONY, but once that's through we're calling it a night. A very long overdue night, at that.

Time to go prep the bed...!
God, I love this. ♥
