LGBT group,
Why is it that the LGBT gang keep asking me to call any couplation you want a marriage? Why are you seeking my thumbs-up, and the thumbs-up of California's populace, and the thumbs-up of all my friends?
Is it really for the things you say it is?
Let's tackle my permission that you seek one at a time:
Want to visit your loved-one in the hospital? Do it. Thumbs-up there.
Own a house together? Okay. Thumbs-up.
Property transfer rights. Fine, take it. Thumbs-up.
You want me to call you: a man and a man, a woman and a woman, married?
You want for the state to call you civilly united?
You know what? As long as your asking, no. Thumbs-down.
I'm not giving my approval on that.
I won't stop you from calling yourselves whatever you want; how would I even try? But as long as your asking my permission, my "blessing" on your choice to actively engage in a lifestyle that's inherently evil, my answer is an abiding "no."
I'm not being hypocritical here.
I'm not asking you to bless my union. You can deny to call me married to a woman.
You could call me not even human. You could call me a grapefruit if you like. I don't care.
Why should you?
Could it be that this is about more than property rights and hospital stuff?
There's a more important issue here:
In the beginning God made them male and female, that a man should leave his parents and cleave to a wife.
I didn't invent marriage, God did.
He set it up as
One man
+
One woman.
And that's it.
There's one marriage configuration and I just wrote it above. Nothing else constitutes a marrage. Not two men and a woman, not two women and a man, not a grapefruit and a man, or the Eiffel tower and a woman.
Call yourself what you like.
But don't expect everyone else to do so. Why should we?
In the beginning God said.
I can't say any different.
I didn't define marriage, He did.
California can't change what marriage is. God already defined it. If they redefine it as you want them to, then they'd simply be wrong. You can't re-define what God has set as an exclusive reality.
Look, believe it or not, I'm out for your best interest. I don't want you to get a disease, I don't want you to die. And I don't want you to die in your sin. You don't have to read this or listen to it. You can ignore me, I won't make you listen, but still it's really important that I say this, because it's the truth. I implore you, you'd wise to listen, and to heed these words:
Sooner or later, you're going to have to give an account to God.
Do you honestly think you're a good person?
Let's leave the man-man / woman-woman marriage thing aside for a second.
Have you ever lied?
Have you ever stolen anything?
Have you ever been angry enough at someone to call them a fool or flip them off?
Have you ever failed to do as your parents wanted, when their request was reasonable?
I have, and that makes me a lying, theiving, murderer at heart, and I've dishonored my parents. I can't offer God my righteousness, I don't have it to give. I deserve eternal hell.
Give yourself the same quiz I just gave myself. Do you pass? You're not special for being gay; you're not going to hell just because you're gay.
Your homosexuality is a symptom of the disease we all have. It's sin.
The God of the Bible is the only one you need to give an account to. He's the only one who's real. And he made you. And you owe Him. Perfection. Do you have it? Can you offer God perfection?
Go through all of God's Ten Commandments; they greatly simply to our minds what God's character looks like.
Do you fall in line with every command?
Either you will repent and lay down before God all of your sin, turn from it, and trust in Christ alone who has taken the punishment for your sin, or you will be damned forever.
I don't want that for you.
You could do as I have done. You can be saved like the wretch who is talking to you now.
Because I've repented and put my trust in Jesus Christ for the salvation of my soul, I won't get what I deserve. I won't go to hell forever. I will be given grace by God on the day of judgement. Because I am in Christ, God now sees me, this wretch, as a saint. Though I still sin, I hate my sin. I will celebrate when this sinful flesh is destroyed and I'm resurrected with Christ anew. I have been saved, and I will spend eternity with my Creator.
The same offer is made to you. God will not turn you away if you repent and you trust in Him. As I have been saved by God, and as I've become in-dwelt by the Holy Spirit of the Lord, so you can be too.
If you are still breathing if your heart still beats, hear me: it's not too late for you.
It doesn't matter if your gay, bi, trans-gender, lesbian, a murderer, a fornicator, a blasphemer... all wickedness is the same flavor of disgusting to God. He will not accept any of it.
But if you repent and turn to the Savior, Jesus Christ, God will save you.
I pray you will.
There's nothing more important than your eternal salvation.
