books books books!
With my reading venture...
My normal habit is "OH! Gotta get this book!!" and it'll sit on my bookshelf for quite a while until I get bored enough to go and say "Hm, what looks interesting?"
Well, I have been reading quite a lot lately and I haven't been buying any new books... dilemma. I am running out of books to choose from!
I say I have now about... eh... 12 or so to choose from. This might sound like a lot, but compared to last year when I had about oh, 25 - 30 to choose from, this is not good!
So, dear Flist... please recommend to me some wonderful books because I trust your good judgment.
These are the authors I totally loved:
Juliette Marillier - she did the whole Celtic/fairy tale thing.
Of course you all know Bujold, but after I finish a Civil Campaign I'll only have Diplomatic Immunity and the Curse of Chalion left!
Harry Potter (oh last month my brain was filled with Harry Potter! So sad that I finished them!)
Karen Hancock - fantasy about a wimpy religious scholar turned mighty warrior king! No seriously, the whole series is awesome.
I did read Sword of Shannara - meh... felt like it ripped off LOTR quite a lot.
Already read the Bellgariad series...
So, from that list... any recommendations?? :)
