Wisdom Teeth Chronicle

Part 1: 7:00 AM. July 1. Pre-surgery.
I woke up about an hour ago out of nerves and saw the sunrise. I'm a little worried but I know it'll be fine and all. I'm painfully thirsty but I can't drink anything for 6 hours before the procedure.
Wish me luck.

Part 2: 6:00 AM. July 2. Post-surgery.
Laughing gas is weird. I remember everything. They put the laughing gas in me and I breathed in for a while and said "I feel weird" and my voice sounded really low. "Well, you're about to feel more weird in a second!" the doctor told me. I remember that I was laughing because it was so perfect for it to be called laughing gas. They froze my hand and stuck the IV in and I woke up what seemed like 2 or 3 minutes later. They put me in a wheelchair and got me over to another operating room and I went to sleep. I woke up 2 hours later and felt great, but when I tried to say that I felt great, I realized my tongue and jaw were numb, which felt weird. I kept closing my eyes without realizing it and imagining that my dad was walking around and doing my laundry and stuff. A nurse came in and helped me into a wheelchair and got me out to the car. Standing up made me dizzy and nauseous, and I asked for some anti-nausea stuff to rub on my wrists, but it didn't work very well because I threw up on the way home. First time in 7 years and it wasn't actually too bad. I got home, watched half of Hero (it was on TV), and fell asleep on the couch and bled a lot. I slept for most of the day. All I really remember is waking up to take pain medication, my mouth being numb, and Linda coming over at some point. She brought me yellow flowers to perk me up. Everyone told me the surgery went very well.
Today I woke up at 6, because I slept the whole day yesterday. The big thing I noticed is that when I woke up, I could feel my entire face, which is nice even though it hurts. I made the switch over from the hardcore pain medication to just 2 Advil at a time. It still hurts a little but it's nothing I can't put up with. I was finally able to eat today, which is goo and so far have eaten some strawberry Jell-O, some chocolate pudding, and a lot of cottage cheese (it's the only thing we have that I can eat and isn't terribly sugary). Mostly I've been laying around watching Spongebob. I'm hardly bleeding at all and don't need gauze anymore. Overall, I seem to be recovering pretty quickly.
