He complained ALL OF THE TIME, said it was so third world, etc.

When I talked about it to a few people who had visited they looked at me as though I were crazy.

That picture looks beautiful, he made it seem like a place you'd never want to visit. =/

It really is one of the most beautiful countries in the Carib.

Wow, do I know you? I had a friend go there for med school. He always complained that it was so 3rd world. Said cows would be walking in the halls. I told him that he was an idiot.

ps: no cows roam in the hallways (i know people, some of whom are American also, who attend med school there)...I think your friend was exgaggerating much.

Oh, I know he was exaggerating. Fucking drama queen. And all "U.S. is better than anywhere!" Which is just one of the reasons I called him an idiot.

Well...Dominica isn't the richest country...no...however, if your willing to open your eyes and experience something different, its the natural beauty and the beauty of the people that make it an amazing place...

exactly,I think thats what I alot of people fail at. AmeriKKKa has gotten us spoiled. That's why I'm all about traveling,and seeing how other people live,to get experience,etc.

There are folks out there in other countries/islands,that are trying their best to make a living just like us American's.

word...its frustrating that people hold the rest of the world up to Amerikkkan/Westernized standards...people r blind to the fact that there are people out there, like in the philippines, who make a dollar a day...a DOLLAR. but they STILL continue to push and make do with what they have. Dominica's economy isn't as extreme, but it also isn't like here. or maybe other islands in the Carib who thrive off of tourism. Over recent years have they been willing to open up to tourism...which means they have to cater to those who come in with their Amerikkan/westernized standards...I personally love the fact that it is considered the last all natural island of the Caribbean...
