Tipple Topple (Part 1)

We started off with drinks. 2 creations from Bax.






d. chose F*** THE SUBPRIME.
Crustas, champagne, (something else we couldn’t figure out), orange bitters.




I had the NITRO MARTINI.
Gin, vermouth, citrus zest. As the name suggests, nitro.




AMUSE BOUCHE

An interesting affair. Part 1 was a black, petrified vegetable served with some miso based sauce.




Instead of chopsticks you use the supplied metal pick / tongs. Interesting. I still don’t know what the vegetable was, but I think it was a legume. Despite looking charred it wasn’t. Simply deep fried. And black.

Part 2 was deep fried calamari rings with some salty, green soup to be taken through a straw. Can’t remember what the soup was, think it may have been basil. They really like to use basil here. This soup was a tad to salty, but perfect to whet the appetite.




Part 3 were sweet, bourbon infused grapes, sitting on a bed of ice. Nice.
