Book review: Deborah Harkness

Ok. I didn't want to pick up the book, because I didn't think I'd want to put it down.

I was right.

The Book of Life, by Deborah Harkness, is the third in a trilogy that started with A Discovery of Witches and continued with The School of Night.

I really want more, and that's one of the best things to say after finishing a book!

The pacing is good, the villains aren't predictable, the characters develop nicely, and the author weaves reality (and history) with fantasy in a truly delightful and realistic way. (As realistic as it can be, with witches, vampires, daemons, firedrakes, etc...)

I really hope Harkness does more with the characters...
