WTH?!
I've just finished reading Shadow of Night, and the entire book was good...right up to the very abrupt, very unsettled, very unsettling, very unsatisfactory ending!
The story was good. Matthew & Diana travel back in time to look for a book and a witch who can teach Diana what she needs to know to work magic and be a witch. Harkness blends the witches, daemons, and vampires fairly seamlessly into 16th century England. (Who knew? Christopher Marlowe: a daemon!) There's alchemy, romance, intrigue, magic...and then...an abrupt return to the present, and...that's it. No explanation of the things that are hinted at that have been happening in the present. She'd better explain them in book 3, and I hope it shows up soon!
